PROGRAM INFORMATION for the 2023-2024 YEAR
The Recreational Program is designed for everyone who wants to play soccer. This program forms its teams through the use of the MSA rules and regulations. This form of team selection properly weights teams based off of actual participants ages and playing experience in an effort to create a level playing field for teams formed. HFC partners with the City of Hattiesburg's Parks and Recreation Department to offer a quality recreational program for the City of Hattiesburg.
For a child to play in the 2023 Fall Rec program they need to be at least 3 years old in the 2023 calendar year and no older than 15 years old in the 2023 calendar year. What age division a child is put in depends on the year he/she was born. All games for the U4-U12 are played at the Tatum Park Facility. See info. below for the U14-U16 group. Games will start in September and end around the beginning of November.
HFC will provide a jersey to all players. Player will need to have their own soccer cleats, shin guards, black soccer socks, and black shorts.
All of our Recreational Coaches are parent volunteers. We always need coaches, so please consider being a coach for your child's team. We can keep the cost of this program low because of our wonderful volunteer parent coaches!!
If you are interested in coaching, please mark that on the registration form when asked.
The Recreation Fees are below.
Early Bird Discount of $5/player applied in June!
Info for U14 -U16 Groups Only: This group will do training with a paid coach with some small sided interclub scrimmages.

The build out line promotes playing the ball out of the back in a less pressured setting.
When the goalkeeper has the ball, either during play (from the opponent) or from a goal kick, the opposing team must move behind the build out line until the ball is put into play.
Once the opposing team is behind the build out line, the goalkeeper can pass, throw or roll the ball into play (punting is not allowed).
After the ball is put into play by the goalkeeper, the opposing team can cross the build out line and play resumes as normal.
If a goalkeeper punts the ball, an indirect free kick should be awarded to the opposing team from the spot of the offense.
If the punt occurs within the goal area, the indirect free kick should be taken on the goal area line parallel to the goal line at the nearest point to where the infringement occurred.
Players will not be penalized for an offside offense in U8 5v5.
